where do I find new glass

by maninblack » Thu Jun 12, 2014 8:01 pm

It seems in the couple of weeks since I made the deal with the farmer to buy the car and begin the massive refurb of the eh sedan, it looks like some little @$#% has gone and smashed every piece of glass in the car.

So where would be the best place to try and source new windscreens and windows from ?
Cheers
Paul

These guys are on the forum, they may be able to sort you out.
Depending on your budget, there is plenty of side & rear windows glass sections around secondhand.
Front screen is worth getting new I would suggest though.

I was told that in Queensland as well ......... if you take the zone toughened screen out for any reason you can only put back a laminated one if you need to get a roadworthy?
It would be really nice to have all these things clarified once and for all.........

I asked that as well the guy I spoke to was a bit switched on he said if a car had been unregistered for any period of time it should not pass a roadworthy if it has a zone toughened front screen....I said how would you know and he said he could tell by putting his polaroid sunglasses on and look for the stress patterns .....at which time I thanked him for his time and hung up.......
