Wider steel rims?

by Kentg » Sun May 21, 2023 12:20 pm

I have a stock EH with HR front end. What rims can I fit wider then standard front and rear PLUS I'd like to lower it 2 inches.
anyone running a combo??
I'm thinking 13x7's on rear and 13x6's on front (although if they'd fit 13x7 on front)and I want steel rims not mags or chrome.
I'd appreciate any guidance.
Cheers

Hi Kent,
You’ve probably given up waiting for a reply by now. 6 & 7 is more or less the standard combo, though you can fit 8 on the rear at a pinch. You have to pay special attention to offsets of course. Any wider than six on the front requires increasing track b6 more than legally allowed, and will increase stress on the wheel bearings. I5 has been done plenty of times though of course, but it will also give you heavier steering at low speed due to increasing the scrub radius. I hope this reaches you.
Cheers,
Clay
