Location of stamped chassis number

Am building my EH in South Africa. I have no id tags on car at all. Maybe the exported cars did'nt get id tags! Where abouts is the chassis number stamped on the body? TIA
A pic would be good. I cant see fuck all!!

Hi, Assuming south africa is right hand drive the chassis number is stamped on the drivers side on top of the wheel inner guard in the engine bay. If it has been smashed and front end replaced it may not have been stamped again or it maybe that a previous owner has had the engine bay painted like mine was and you may have to rub the paint back to find it. I believe the south African assembled cars may not have use the same system. Interested to know more about your car. What engine and trans etc?
