Replacement rubber

by Carpet56 » Wed Jul 31, 2019 2:15 pm

When i took the front end apart there was a rubber or foam piece on this piece of metal on both sides of the frame. They fell apart when i peeled them off. Does anyone know where i can get another two or if they can be made from something else or indeed do they need to go back on when fitting the guards etc.
Cheers Glenn

What I have seen done is get a length of an equivalent section from rubber store, punch holes and pie cut for any vertical curves. That is what people have done on FB EK which have a continuous curve along the bonnet edge.

A bicycle inner tube can also be slit open and punched/pie cut as per Clay's process. Can be easier if you don't have a Clark Rubber in town.

Thanks for the replies guys, you have given me something to work on. Will look for some rubber like that when i go to scotts rubber on the Goldie as they have the other rubber i need for the underbelly of the guards where they attach at the top of the body near the screen and front doors.
