Well it's been a while but the old girl has gone to the panel shop for some tlc. Wish i could have done the paint and panels but i know my limitations and have found a good shop to work on it for me. I have a few pics of it heading off and some of the doors and bonnet undercoated to stop early morning moisture which we get up here on the mountain. Guards and doors will be blasted to make sure all is right with the metal and then after new year should get more done on it. Bonnet hinges and latch getting zinc plated at the moment then bumper o/riders need to be rechromed to match the new bumpers. More pics to come. Happy Christmas everyone. Glenn

Hi Anthony, progress has been a little slow of late but the two rear floor panels have been installed and the front drivers side has been cut out and just waiting on installing it. A slight problem on the drivers side as it was the worst one to do. I think it has been over a culvert at some stage in a previous life as the rear floor had been welded in a couple of places like it had something pretty hard hit it underneath. Whoever welded the rear floor did a pig of a job but hey it's all fixed now.So when the panel shop went to install the front floor panel it seems that it wouldn't fit properly underneath where it meets the subframe near the gearbox hump going forward to the firewall. It misses it by about 8mm. I thought i had been sent the wrong one but upon looking at other panels from rares and resto country they all have the same features. I wonder if anyone else had the same problem. Anywho it is only minor so should be in by the end of the week, then it looks like the old girl will have a good going over with a wet blasting the same as the doors, guards, bonnet and bootlid. I ended up getting two new bumpers from resto at a good price with free postage, gotta save as much as we can right? I was going to use my originals but with the quotes i was getting to beat out a couple of dents and rechrome, it just made sense to buy new. Next on the list will be to buy some new seatbelts and drill the pillars to accept the bolts i got from you before painting the shell. I will probably fit the seat and check where to fit the pillar bolts as i sit tall in the saddle so don't want to muck that up. Will keep you updated, getting itchy feet already.
Regards Glenn.

Slow and steady, I’m doing my seat belt anchors atm, not using barrel bolts as I have room to install a plate for the upper attachment , but that’s because it’s a van and not a sedan.

Good to hear things are happening Glenn. I had good front floors in my wagon so I don't know about the fitment of floor pans. I also have new bumpers front and rear. Yes they are pricey but compared to re chroming and repairing old ones it is a bit cheaper to go with the new. Some pics would be great :D

Will get onto the pics hopefully this week. I did get the bonnet hinges, striker plate and bolts zinc plated so will take a pic of them and also the rear floor panels in and the front cross member i have been going on about. The cross member had been smacked right where the handbrake cable is attached to it , no wonder it didn't want to work when i bought it. While i am at it i notice you are after a wiper pivot. I am sorry i don't have a spare to send you but i am wondering the best way of cleaning them as in getting all the crud that accumulated on them over the years. Was told that they couldn't be zinc plated like the wiper pivot arms so i guess wet blasting would be out of the question due to them being cast alloy, maybe vapor blasting like they do with carbys, i don't know. Anywho i am going to sign off and take over the large tv and get rid of MKR to find something else to watch(hope i don't get king hit lol). Cant wait for the big bash tomorrow night.
Regards Glenn

Some pics i took a couple of weeks ago of the doors wet blasted, the drivers side cross member after beating out damage, front panel blasted revealing some small rust holes and the hinges and striker plate zinc plated. More to follow as work progresses.

Looking good. I managed to get another wiper pivot and just gave it a clean with a wire wheel on the bench grinder. I think I will paint them black to hide any imperfections, besides you don't see them much with the grill over them.
