Time to refurb my old wheels. Had these Simmons since the late 80's. Been on a few cars, My facroty V8 LX and my ratty EH wagon. Been in storage for the past 25+ years. Not everyone likes them but I do. Coming in at 8 x 15 front and 9 x 15 rear. Was running 205 50 15 f and 225 50 15 rear. This time around will be 205 65 15 and 225 60 15. The cenrte will be black with polished rims. Will take a few weekends to get done in between house duties. Here is a mockup with the smaller tyres.

Well said Anthony it's for you no one else. In a previous lifetime i had a HQ running a hot 202, bored and balanced with triple XU1 carbs etc and i had 8 inch magnum wheels polished in brisbane, cant remember who did the the job though. I think it cost 25 bucks a wheel but more than likely cost an arm and leg now. Anywho you are doing a great job.

Thanks Glenn. Cleaning and polishing alloy is a dirty job but very rewarding when it is done.

Happy new month everyone. I know I said it should be finished in a couple of months a few ago, but  . Anyway a little bit more on the wheels. Gave the centres a blast and undercoating along with the bolts.

And if you were wondering, 80 to hold 4 wheels together. Then a bit of satin black.

Next weekend get a couple of tyres for the rear so I can measure the diff to be shortened.

Hello to those who all following along, hope you all had a good weekend. Managed to get the rear tyres swapped from my steelies to the Simmons to measure up the diff.
First up, centre mark the wheel arch with yellow tape and out with the diff.

Measure between the inner wheel faces, 1420mm. Commodore diff measures at 1517mm, disc face to disc face.

and the diff out ready to be shortened. More next week maybe :D
On a side note still looking for a left rear scuff plate.

Hi all, not much happening. Been waiting for some funds to keep moving. At the moment I am waiting to get a new to me diff and get it shortened. I have one in waiting but will be a couple of weeks. I am putting a few thing in the for sale section to help me along. Stay safe and get out there and work on your project.
