Gear Shifter issue resolved after two days solid work, floor cut shifter cut out from commodore used. Modified and boxed ends, fitted with curvature to my floor pan, penetration through tunnel made enough for the shifter arm, and then rubber seal fitted to either side of penetration to seal. Vx shifter fitted. A eh snapped console will be made to encapsulate the shifter mount and fit around gear shift indicator plate. But the console fabrication is probably one of the last items to be made after seats fitted for trial and seats will not be fitted until everything else is finished inside and around the dash.
Moving to the back end, I’m waiting for the bumpers to be chromed, need to fit the tailgates, but still no joy with getting a upper tailgate handle.
Moving to the front of the car, almost ready to fit up the radiator, condenser and fans, waiting for the bumper bar overriders from chrome platers.

G'day Doc,

Are you sending that tailgate handle to Spaghetti?

If not, I'll see if I can dig him one out of my parts stash. My spare tailgate is buried right at the back of the stash (with all the snakes and spooders) so I have been putting off hunting for it. I have to get in their to pull out a quarter window for an FB/EK this weekend, so it might be a good opportunity to grab the handle too.

Cheers,
Harv

Some further progress made yesterday, fuel tank plumbing and charcoal canister all done. Wheel wells to paint then put tailgates on.

Front hood emblem and mouldings fitted, but first I had to make the retainers, as no listing for ej retainers at rear spares,
So I got a bit of plate alloy, got the router with a metal die grinder burr and slowly routered a 9 mm wide 1 mm deep groove, then I got another pieces of 8 mm alloy and made a press die, put it all on the 10 ton press with some 1mm sheet and away I went. Pictures show the story.
