I got the inside frame of the upper tailgate sand blasted, by having it half in half out of my small cabinet, came up ok, there’s plenty of small pin holes in it right across the bottom section now. my preference is to reinforce the inside with another skin and then lead wipe the holes on the outside, I could fabricate new sections and weld in as the other option but in this case I’m concerned I might get too much twist in the frame by the amount of heat . The most important part is that all the rust is gone and with some POR15 after the repairs, I’m sure it will last another 30 years!
Any recommendations?

Hi guys, I m in need of help, I need to buy an upper tailgate handle as mine is rusted in half, also I need a lower tailgate handle as the end is broken off, if anyone has some spare they may wish to sell me at reasonable price. 0402763370 thanks, is there any other handle assembly from another make that will fit,.? I almost thought about the Bunnings sh d handle except it would need to be bolted on

The upper end gate handle assembly (7411267) is common for EJ-HR. Not sure about the lower handle assembly.

Well another coat of primer and blocked back again with 600 grit today, was hoping for a good day tomorrow to paint, but looks like that ain’t going to happen as forecast raining. The photo shows the undercoat wet after block back
