149 Carby Linkage

by EJ_VE_EH » Thu Aug 27, 2015 12:32 am

I have a standard single barrel Stromberg carby setup on my 149, and after removing the carby for a rebuild I noticed that the rod connecting it to the throttle mechanism, is flogged out at both ends. It's got big grooves worn into it through many years of use I suppose.

Any one know where a replacement might be found ? I've had a good scout around on the net and cant find anything.
Here's a picture to show what I'm talking about (in the green rectangle......ignore the auto kickdown rods):

It's hanging at a funny angle in this shot, but I hope you get the picture !

Hi, I had a similar issue, I just mig welded up the groves in the rod and then filed them down. This method wouldn't be an option for the masses, but it worked for me.

Thanks for your response. If I can't find a good one, I'll definitely give this a go.
