Problematic upper tailgate fitted today, the seal is preventing it from closing flush, plus I still need to make the linkage mechanism bit that the levers attach to. Anyhow, heater hoses and valve connected, high pressure fines connected, its going to be real interesting when I do power up the electrics to see what happens. Fingers crossed everything work and no smoke appears ha!

Even half shut, that tailgate looks pretty damn cool 8-)

My wagon upper tailgate is doing the same thing. Not sure what I am going to do yet.

My EK wagon upper tailgate was the same. I shut it, and left it shut for a few weeks. It helped the rubber settle in. Still sits a little proud, but not as bad as when I first installed the rubber.

Cheers,

When you power it up for the first time, let’s hope the smoke stays inside the wires ;<)

Looking good spag. Can’t beat a glossy tailgate. No oil spots from the extension housing oil seal.

Fresh rubbers need some pressure and hot weather to bed in.

You must be getting close?

Yep getting close, have made a bracket to mount commodore power steering reservoir next to the drivers side bonnet hinge, once fitted, I can fill up the fluids, connect up the dah and do some power up and functional tests, maybe even crank and start...... maybe.

Por 15 applied to inner door skin, fuel tank top, inner rear guards, messy job took 3 hours. Time flies.

Powering along. Do you have any recent pics of the engine bay?
